Fred Barnes (Journalist)

Fred Barnes is the co-host of The Beltway Boys on the Fox News Channel, and he also regularly appears with Brit Hume on Fox's Special Report. He is also executive editor of The Weekly Standard, a news publication. Barnes graduated from the University of Virginia and was a Neiman Fellow at Harvard University. For ten years from 1985 to 1995, he was senior editor and White House correspondent for the New Republic. Before moving on to the Baltimore Sun in 1979, Barnes covered the Supreme Court and the White House for the Washington Star. He was the national political correspondent at the Baltimore Sun. He also wrote the "Presswatch" media column for the American Spectator. He also was a panelist on the PBS show The McLaughlin Group for several seasons.
