Frank Selke Trophy

The Frank Selke Trophy is one of the end-of-year awards given out by the NHL. It is awarded to the outstanding defensive forward of the year. The Selke was first awarded after the 1977-1978 season. Bob Gainey of the Montreal Canadiens holds the record having won the award four times. The Selke Trophy is awarded by the Professional Hockey Writers Association. It is named in honor of long time NHL executive Frank J. Selke.
