Frank NavettaFrank Navetta was an original member of the punk-pop pioneering group The Descendents, whom he played with for 4 (or possibly 6) years. He formed Descendents with Tony Lombardo and Bill Stevenson in 1979 and released the Ride The Wild/It's A Hectic World EP. In 1980 the original lineup was joined by new lead vocalist Milo Aukerman, with whom they enjoyed indie sucess. There breakthrough recording, the Fat EP was released in 1981. Which displayed Navetta playing in a very chrunchy Hard Rock style. The bands masterpiece Milo Goes To College was released the next year, which showed Navetta playing in a very surf-oriented style. The Descendents tempoaraly split in 1983 when Aukerman began to attend college. It is most commonly believed that Navetta moved to Oregon to become a full-time fisherman at this time, but a picture suggests that Navetta also could have took part in the I Don't Wanna Grow Up Album released in 1985 when the Descendents reformed, 2 songs co-written by Navetta with Lombardo and 1 indpendently written song supports this theory as well. Little is known about Navetta other than that he played with the Descendents and whether it was in 83' or 85' that he left, moved to Oregon to be a fisherman. Widly considered to be the best of the 3 guitarists who played with the Descendents. He was replaced by Ray Cooper who played on Enjoy! and, if the theory that Navetta did actually play on the album is false I Don't Wanna Grow Up, who was in turn replaced by Stephen Egerton, who played on All, then left when the Descendents split to play with the group All, he is the Descendents current guitarist after they reformed. Frank joined Tony Lombardo and Bill Stevenson in the spring of 2002 for a reunion of sorts at ALL's quasi-annual festival Stockage in Fort Collins, Colorado. The group played songs as the original three-piece line-up that breifly existed before Milo Aukerman joined the group.
