Frank HallFrank Hall (1921- September 21, 1995) was an Irish journalist and satirist. He was for a short time the second presenter of The Late Late Show, the world's longest running television chat show. Hall was born in Newry in County Down in 1921. He left school at the age of 12 to work in a local shop. He also worked in London as a waiter before returning to Dublin. On his return he began a journalistic career with the Irish Independent and the Evening Herald. After that, he moved to RT where he worked in the newsroom. He also presented one season of the Late Late Show, but it was not a success and ex-presenter Gay Byrne returned to take over the show. During the 1970s he wrote and presented Hall's Pictorial Weekly, a political satire show that ran for over 250 episodes over 12 years. In 1978, Hall was appointed film censor.
