Franja De Ponent
The
Franja de Ponent
(Catalan for
Western Strip
) refers to four
comarques
in the east of the
Autonomous Community
of
Aragon
, which are historically and linguistically Catalan, in contrast to the
Castillian
- (and historically
Aragonese
-) speaking areas of western Aragon. They are counted as being part of the
Catalan Countries
(Pasos Catalans). The following comarques make up the
Franja
