Francisco Hernndez De Crdoba

There were two Spanish conquistadores named Francisco Hernndez de Crdoba. One of them discovered the peninsula of Yucatn (though he died thinking that it was an island). The other founded Nicaragua. They were contemporaries, and neither has a known date of birth. In some sources they are differentiated using the name "Hernndez" for one and "Fernndez" for the other. This only adds more confusion, because in the XVI century, in Spain, Hernndez and Fernndez were the same thing, as it happens with Hernando, Fernando, Hernn, Fernn, etc. Crdoba, Francisco Hernndez de Crdoba, Francisco Hernndez de
