Four Dimensions

Four dimensions refers to adding a fourth dimension to our current three dimensions. Vectorially speaking, the three dimensions use (i,j,k) to specify a specific point in three dimensional space. However, four dimensions use (i,j,k,l) to specify the points. Fourth dimension can be written as R^4, which is the vector space containing all vectors in the fourth dimension. To visualize the fourth dimension, you have to use comparative thinking. We compare by thinking what the world looks like to the eyes of an ant (two dimensions) and then think what the third dimension will look to it. Other applications of the fourth dimension is colouring a 3D object, with the fourth variable representing temperature, time or some other variable.
