Forum Of Young Global LeadersThe Forum of Young Global Leaders is a philanthropic organization founded by Klaus Schwab in 2004 to encourage young leaders from all walks of life to commit to spending five years working to "dramatically impact the global future". Around 220 "YGLs" are selected each year for 5-year positions on this Forum: see the List of Young Global Leaders for details. Forum events The Forum has at least one major annual meeting. The first annual meeting will be held from June 24 to June 28, 2005, in Zermatt, Switzerland. Initial focus In the first year of its existence, 237 members were selected to take part in the Forum. The initial focus of its work includes a "2020 Initiative" to establish a framework for understanding problems and risks the world faces in the next fifteen years. With this framework, they can then consider what the world will be like in 2020, and "identify the dynamics and complexities of future industrial and social developments, so that a shared vision for a better world in 2020 can emerge." Quotes - The Forum of Young Global Leaders will activate a network of insightful, innovative and energetic young people whose vision and dynamism can usher a future of hope, progress and positive change.
