Formicarium Ant farm In the same sense that an insectarium is a terrarium designed for studying insects, a Formicarium is an insectarium which is designed primarily for the study of ant colonies and behaviour. Those who study ant behaviour are known as myrmecologists. A few organizations sell formicaria of various construction and size, for those at home or school who don't wish to build one by hand.
