Forgotten Futures

Forgotten Futures is a role-playing game created by Marcus L. Rowland to allow people to play in settings inspired by the early days of Victorian Science Fiction and Fantasy. Rowlands pioneered the concept of shareware role-playing games with this system: users can download the rules from his web site, buy a subscription that entitles them to Forgotten Futures CDs, or buy a copy of the published version of this game. The CDs are also good sources for science fiction books whose copyright has expired. The rule system is simple and effective and well suited to the period that it covers. See also:
