Forestville Township is a township located in Fillmore County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 386.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 93.6 km² (36.2 mi²). 93.6 km² (36.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 386 people, 150 households, and 115 families residing in the township. The population density is 4.1/km² (10.7/mi²). There are 164 housing units at an average density of 1.8/km² (4.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 99.48% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.52% from two or more races. 1.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 150 households out of which 29.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.3% are married couples living together, 3.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.7% are non-families. 20.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 2.98. In the township the population is spread out with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 114.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 115.9 males. The median income for a household in the township is $38,125, and the median income for a family is $50,500. Males have a median income of $27,333 versus $25,750 for females. The per capita income for the township is $17,559. 12.6% of the population and 10.3% of families are below the poverty line.
