Forest TrollsForest Trolls are a race in the fantasy setting of Warcraft. The Forest Trolls once held a vast empire over much of northern Kalimdor before the Sundering, but the high elves, after being exiled from Ashenvale, came to their home, a full scale war erupted that ended in the high elves allying with the humans of Arathor. The resulting battles cut the forest trolls' numbers severely, and they became primarily restricted to the forests of Zul'Aman. Thousands of years later, war came to the lands of the humans, in the form of the Orcish Horde. Seeing an opportunity to avenge his people, a powerful troll named Zuljin made an alliance with the warchief, Orgrim Doomhammer. The war ended with a loss, and the trolls scattered, abandoning the orcs to their fate. They have since retreated to their home in the Hinterlands. The most notable denominations of forest trolls are the Vilebranch, Witherbark, and Shadowglen tribes.
