Fooled By Randomness

Nassim Nicholas Taleb authored the book Fooled by Randomness: The Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in the Markets. In 2001, TEXERE LLC published the first edition of Fooled. In 2004, TEXERE published the revamped second edition. In the second edition (and most likely the first edition, as well), Taleb supposedly sets forth the idea that modern humans, as he observed them,
  1. overestimated causality, and
  2. tended to view the world as more explainable than it really was.
