Florida State Road 692Current route SR 692 is a short freeway connector north of St. Petersburg. It was built in 2002 to connect CR 296 (118th Avenue, which is being upgraded into a high-speed arterial) to SR 93 (Interstate 275). The interchange at the east end only provides access in three of four directions; there is no ramp from SR 93 (Interstate 275) northbound to SR 692, though that is planned for future construction. There is also no access between SR 692 and SR 686 at the east end. Unless signs have been put up since it opened, SR 692 is unsigned. From SR 93 (Interstate 275) it is signed as 118th Avenue, the street it leads to, and from CR 296 (118th Avenue) it is signed for Interstate 275. Major roads intersected History SR 692 opened in 2002. Before that, there was no SR 692. Future There are plans to continue SR 692 west from its current end at CR 296 (118th Avenue) and 31st Court, making the last piece into ramps to CR 296 (118th Avenue). The extension would go west and then north into SR 686 (Roosevelt Boulevard) at SR 688 (Ulmerton Road), which would be upgraded to a freeway to the south end of the Bayside Bridge (part of CR 611).
