Flag Of Colombia

The flag of Colombia was adopted on November 26, 1861. It is a horizontal tricolor of yellow, blue and red. The yellow stripe is taller than the other two. The yellow stripe represents the gold that Colombia once owned until the arrival of the Spanish. The blue stripe indicates the country's contact with two oceans. The red stripe represents the blood that Colombians spent in their struggle for independence from Spain.
