Finn Brothers

The Finn Brothers is the name of the musical project of New Zealand brothers Neil and Tim Finn. The brothers started off making music together from a very young age, and Neil joined his big brother Tim in Split Enz at the tender age of sixteen. After Split Enz quit, Neil started his own band, Crowded House, and Tim started off a solo-career. Tim joined Neil in Crowded House for the Woodface album in 1991, after a productive writing session. Half of the album was originally conceived as a Finn Brothers project. Tim left the band while they were touring Europe in support of the Woodface album, but the seed for a brotherly project was sown, and in 1995, a lo-fi album simply called Finn was released (Finn Brothers in the US). After initial pressings of Finn, the duo changed their name to the Finn Brothers to avoid confusion with a band going under a similar name. In 2004, a second album is released, Everyone Is Here. It was recorded twice, once in upstate New York with famed Bowie producer Tony Visconti, then again six months later in Los Angeles with Crowded House stalwart Mitchell Froom. Some of the songs from the first recording session were kept as B sides.
