Finalrender

FinalRender is a rendering engine developed by Cebas Computer GmbH for discreet's 3D Studio Max. An Alias Maya version is planned for 2005, and a Softimage XSI version is planned for 2006. An old incarnation of this renderer was also modified and integrated into Maxon's Cinema4D. There are currently two versions: "Stage-0" and "Stage-1." Essentially, Stage-0 supplements 3D Studio Max's built-in scanline renderer with its own raytracing engine, whereas Stage-1 is a "pure" raytracing system which does not use 3D Studio Max's scanline renderer as a front-end. FinalRender features many advanced rendering technologies such as global illumination (GI), caustics, high dynamic range lighting, true motion blur, micro-pixel displacement, full support of layered G-Buffer Channles and Render Elements, sub-surface scattering, light dispersion, physical correct Depth of Field raytracing, Zauner Shader technology, ect.
