Home to Chief 2004 Summer Olympics organizer Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, the wooded area in Filothei can be prone to out-of-control fires. One such fire was started when Angelopoulos-Daskalaki was holding a party to celebrate the successful Opening Ceremonies in Athens.
