Fetal Stethoscope

A fetal stethoscope (also known as Pinard's stethoscope or a pinard) is a listening device used in the care of pregnancy. The instrument is shaped like a listening trumpet and is placed on the abdomen of the woman so that the midwife or doctor can find the fetal heart sounds. The fetal stethoscope has mostly been replaced by the electronic sonicaid.
