fat controller

The Fat Controller is the main boss in the children's TV series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends and in the original series of books by the Rev. W. V. Awdry. His real name is Sir Topham Hatt (I) and he is known by this name in the American TV episodes. While the name "Fat Controller" has been the subject of much controversy because of the political incorrectness of the name, in 1989 the ACLU successfully argued censorship would violate the first amendment.
