Fascinating Ada

Fascinating Ada are a cult British satirical musical comedy cabaret trio founded in 1983 by Dillie Keane. Her partners are Marilyn Cutts and Adle Anderson, and these three represent the final lineup, since Fascinating Ada announced their intention to disband after their 2003 tour.

Songs

The titles of their songs -- including The Herpes Tango, Chequebook Journalism, Politically Correct, Swiss Navy Blues, Kiss and Tell and Socialist Britain -- give some idea of the scope of their humour. Unafraid of having fun at the expense of other performers, Lieder, containing the lyrics 'Doesn't matter if you sing out of tune, so long as you're German', satirises in particular Lotte Lenya and Marlene Dietrich. Radiating Love looking at the consequences of nuclear fallout, asks Would you still hold my hand if my skin wasn't there? Thre group has release six albums: Sweet F.A. (1985), A Load of Old Sequins (1987), Live at the Lyric (1994), It, Wit, Don't Give a Shit Girls (1997), Barefaced Chic (1999) and One Last Flutter (2003).

Awards

The trio were nominated for the Perrier Comedy Award in (1984), and twice for Best Entertainment in the Laurence Olivier Awards (in ???? and 2000).
