Farndon, Cheshire

Farndon is a village in the county of Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Dee, south of Chester, and close to the border with Wales. Nearby Holt in north Wales is its twin town. Holt Castle is by the river; it was constructed in the 13th and 14th centuries. The castle fell to the forces of Oliver Cromwell in 1647.
