FannFann Wong is an actress born in Singapore to Chinese parents. Fann Wong Fann Wong, who created her stage name by combining her father and mother's surnames (Fann and Wong, respectively), started out modelling, at age 16 and had already shot to fame with her Oil Of Ulan TV commercial. In 1994, she was discovered by a Singapore TV producer who cast her in a drama series titled, Dreams Come True. Fann soon starred in two more TV series, The Challenger and Chronicle of Life, which brought her critical accolades and popularity in Singapore. With her winsome looks and natural acting flair, Fann made it to the elite ranks of the top ten artistes in MediaCorp in no time. Her acting proved more than competent enough for judges' to decide to give her both the Most Popular Newcomer and Best Actress Awards in her first year as an actress at the 1995 Star Awards. Her high profile after the release of that album led Fann to being cast in her first big screen film, the Hong Kong art movie The Truth About Jane and Sam. Her singing career also took off with 5 solo albums released to date, an impressive feat considering Singapore's small music market. She was also the first Singapore artiste to stage a solo concert ("My Story" In Concert ~ Fann Wong) in 2000 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Over the next several years Fann balanced her movie-acting, singing and television careers, with movies such as a Hong Kong film titled When I Fall in Love..., a Singapore TV series called Looking for Stars, and a Taiwanese series titled Madam White Snake. During this time she also began hosting travelogue shows, including Travel Hunt: Japan and Fann Adventure. As of 2003, she has been seen in her first Hollywood movie, Shanghai Knights directed by David Dobkins where she was cast to star alongside Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. External link IMDB listing
