Exeter St Davids Station

Exeter St Davids station is one of many National Rail stations serving the city of Exeter. It is the most important station in the city, and was opened in May 1844. The station was built by the Great Western Railway, but now operated by Network Rail. The station currently has six platforms, five of which are bi-directional through lines, and the remaining is an east-facing bay that is seldom used for anything other than stabling. The station is currently served by Arriva Trains Wales, First Great Western, South West Trains, Virgin Trains and Wessex Trains. The main bridge has many paintings resembling frescos, depicting romantic versions of train travel.
