It is the sequel to the previous year's sleeper hit, Katamari Damacy. Gameplay The concept for this game is as esoteric as its predecessor. The Prince receives a request from a fan at the start of the game. The objective of the game is to have the Prince answer the fan's request, which will make more fans (stages) appear until the whole game is mobbed with fans. In the single-player mode, each of the stages will have a different objective, such as making the ball as large as possible with a limited number of objects, making the ball larger than a given size, or picking up certain objects on the field. Levels previewed so far include a Candyland-type scenario, a race stage, a school classroom, a zoo and a pool. The gameplay is essentially the same: to gather material, the Prince pushes around his katamari, a magical, highly adhesive ball capable of grabbing anything and everything — to a point. Initially, the katamari can only pick up low-mass items like loose change and discarded pencils. As the levels progress, the Prince's katamari grows in size, eventually increasing its power, allowing it to pick up small animals, children, cars, houses, stadiums, sperm whales, and office buildings. This time around, three Royal Presents can be "equipped" by the Prince, so long as they are meant for different sections of the body, which has been divided into head, face and body. External links
