Eureka 147
is a
protocol
for
digital radio
broadcasting
originally developed in
Europe
, but now being deployed in many countries around the world. It is more commonly known as
Digital Audio Broadcast
(
DAB
), although this can also apply to other methods such as
IBOC
and
IBAC
. Eureka 147 is most often
transmitted
in the
L band
, from 1452 to 1492
MHz
, but can also operate in
VHF
and
UHF
bands
in some countries. Several
radio stations
share a single
radio
signal
by
multiplexing
their
digital audio
bitstreams
together, being later
decoded
at the
receiver
