Esther Rantzen

Esther Rantzen (born June 22, 1940), is a British journalist and television presenter, best known for her long stint in That's Life! and her activities as founder of the charity ChildLine. Born in Hertfordshire, England, she was educated at Somerville College, Oxford, and began her television career as a production assistant on the BBC2 documentary series, Man Alive in the mid-1960s. In 1968, she became one of the presenters of Braden's Week, along with Bernard Braden. In the 1990s she presented her audience discussion programme, Esther, on BBC2.
