Admiral Esther McQueen is a fictional character in the Honorverse. She is on of the best tacticians in the People's Republic of Haven. She protected the Committee of Public Safety from a Leveler coup (by bombarding the city involved and killing many civilians) and rose to the position of Secretary of War. Oscar Saint-Just recognized that she was politically ambitious and decided to move against her, but McQueen acted first. Leading the Navy and Marine Corps, she assaulted the Octagon and attempted her own coup. Saint-Just remotely activated the Octagon's nuclear self-destruct system.
