Esperantomobilo

Esperantomobilo was a planned project for a group of Esperanto speakers to buy a minibus and travel across The Americas in June 2004, teaching Esperanto.

Sponsors

Esperantomobilo was an official project of the World Esperanto Association, and the Worldwide Esperanto Youth Organisation (TEJO), together with their subsidiary organisations in the USA and Canada, and the TEJO-affiliated working group Esperanto@Internet. A web site was set up describing the intended voyage, and inviting further financial contributions, citing costs ranging from $10 for a textbook to $5000 for the minibus itself.

Cancellation

The project was cancelled on May 28, 2004 by its initiator, Chuck Smith, citing lack of sufficient donations from within the Esperanto movement as the reason that the project could not go ahead.
