. He was Lord Justice of
Nericia
and a member of the
Privy Council of Sweden

1487
. Erik Trolle was born around 1460 and was apparently aiming at a clerical career. He studied at the universities of
Rostock
and
Cologne
, had positions as
Canon
in
Uppsala
and
Linkping
but was never ordained. He married the wealthy Ingeborg Filipsdotter (Tott) and settled on her manor
Ekholmen
in
Uplandia
. Trolle was elected regent (
riksfrestndare
) at the meeting of the
Privy Council of Sweden
