Eric LernerEric J. Lerner is a plasma physics cosmologist and advocates an infinitely old Universe. Lerner is currently the Executive Director of the Focus Fusion Society and President of Lawrenceville Plasma Physics in Lawrenceville, NJ. Lerner wrote a comprehensive introductory book to the subject of Plasma Cosmology, "The Big Bang Never Happened" (1991). He has studied cosmic plasma phenomena and laboratory fusion devices, especially the dense plasma focus. Lerner researched the Alfven-Klein model which explains the redshift under a constant motion Universe (with no dark matter). Lerner claims that the intergalactic medium is a strong absorber of CMB electromagnetic waves. This absorption occurs in narrow filaments. Lerner showed that the intergalactic medium absorbs and attenuates radio frequencies, and invalidated the "primordial" interpretation of the CMB. Lerner has described quasars as a magnetic self-compression process similar to that occurring in the plasma focus (not require black holes). The plasma focus being a scale model of a quasar. Lerner has reported to the U.S. Department of Energy on the plasma focus. In 1994, Lerner at the University of Illinois confirmed this theory using plasma focus devices. In 2001, Lerner at Texas A&M University produced ion and electron energies to fuse hydrogen-boron fuel. Lerner has been published in the IEEE Spectrum, Aerospace America, Discover magzine, and IBM Research. See also External links and references * "Who We Are". Focus Fusion Society
