Eric Chahi

Eric Chahi is a French computer game designer who is probably most famous for creating Another World (known as Out of This World in the United States). He has been credited for many things in the video game industry, including design, programming, sound, art and support. He started with programming on Oric Atmos and Amstrad during 1983 for the company Loriciels. Then he confirmed his talents on platforms such as Atari ST and Amiga with games such as Jeanne D'Arc and Voyage au centre de la Terre published by Chip. In 1989 Eric Chahi quit Chip to join Delphine Software to work on the graphics for Future Wars. On this project he worked with another industry name, Paul Cuisset. In 1990, he earned his place in the video game hall of fame as part of the legend with Out of This World, which he developed almost on his own (design, programming, graphics and art). Today he has no on-going project in the gaming industry for "videogame software publishing companies have no soul" as he said in a recent interview. But he says he will come back to creating games one day, a day which is awaited by his fans.
