Eravinalloor

Eravinalloor located at 9.49 North and 76.52 East is a village situated 9 km away from Kottayam town. The village is near Puthupally and situated on the banks of Kodoor river. The village is surrounded by water bodies and Kodoor river. The small island like village is connected to the mainland by four bridges, Puthupally bridge to connect Puthupally; Eravinalloor bridge to connect Thrikkothamangalam; Parakkalkadavu bridge to connect to Kollad and the Panachikkad bridge to connect to Panachikkad. The village has three temples of the deities, Subramanya Swamy, BhadraKali and Lord Krishna. The Subramanya Swamy Temple has a circular sanctum sanctorum (Sreekovil) which is unusual for the Dravidian style of temple archiecture. The famous Panachikad Temple is situated 2.5 km away from Eravinalloor.
