Entablature

An entablature is a classical architectural element, the superstructure which lies horizontally above the columns, resting on their capitals. It is commonly divided into architrave, the part immediately above the column; frieze, the central space; and cornice, the upper projecting moldings. It is found in classical architecture such as a Greek temple.
