corvette
HMS ''Barnard Castle
'' of the
Royal Navy
(
pennant number
K694), but converted to a
convoy rescue ship
before completion. She was launched at Browns shipyard in
Kincaid
on
5 October
1944
, brought into service in
1945
and scrapped in July
1955
at
Burght
in
Belgium
. She was owned by the Ministry of War Transport and operated by Ellerman City Line.
Barnard Castle
