Emmanuel Carrre

Emmanuel Carrre is a French author, born in Paris on December 9, 1957. Carrre is an atypical writer: most of his novels, like La classe de neige (Price Femina 1995) and L'adversaire, are an interrogation about identity, the development of illusion and the direction of reality. He also had one of his novels adapted to the cinema and carried out a documentary in Russia... He was the president of the jury of the book Inter 2003.

Quotations

  • "A friend, a true friend, is also a witness, whose glance allows evaluating better his own life." (about the book L'Adversaire)
  • "L'adversaire Poetry is precisely the feeling of living, the "pays of the first time" against the time which catches up with us, pulverizes us." (about the book L'adversaire)

His books

  • La classe de neige (The Class of Snow)
  • L'Adversaire (The Enemy) - based on the murderer Jean-Claude Romand's life, after the author corresponded with the criminal in jail (1993), and watched his trial (1996). It was also a film, with the same name. The film "Le emploi de temps" is also based on that story, but is not so similar to the real facts.
