Elvington, City Of York

Elvington is a village in the unitary authority of City of York, southwest of York, Yorkshire, east of Bishopthorpe and on the banks of the River Derwent, Yorkshire. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book and contains the Elizabethan Elvington Hall. It was made a Conservation Area in 1990. The Yorkshire Air Museum is nearby. The Yorkshire Airshow, the largest airshow in the north of England is held during August at Elvington Airfield.
