elmer, west sussex

Elmer is a small village in the county of West Sussex, United Kingdom. The closest towns are Bognor Regis and Littlehampton. The village has a local shop, Laundrette, and Indian Restaurant and Estate agents along with two pubs - "The Cabin" and "The Elmer". The area also includes the region 'Ancton' including Ancton Farm. Ancton is considerbly older than elmer, with Elmer only being developed within the last 50 years. The whole area now comprising Elmer used to be farmland until the housing drive of the postwar years when the Elmer Sands Estate was constructed. Much of the original housing in the Elmer Sands estate was from Old Railway carraiges, and over the years these are being gradually replaced by modern housing.
