Ella Jenkins

Ella Jenkins, born August 6, 1924, is known as "The First Lady of Children's Music". She released her first album in 1957 on Folkways Records and she has gone on to release 31 albums. Her call-and-response style is focused on engaging children for both entertainment and education. In 2004, she received the Grammy for Lifetime Achievement.
