elenari

Elenari is a term used to describe elven races primarily from the worlds of Sel'ar, Aelveron, and BrightMoon. There are other places that seem to show some Elenari traits, possibly as a result of some Elenari emigrating to there and interbreeding with the local races. Alorya may be such a place. Some Elenari spent time in Faerie, and Elenari seem to be related to the Shiri, an elf-like race who live in certain parts of Faerie. The word Elenari was derived from Tolkiens Elvish and translates almost literally to "The Elven People of/from the Stars." This name was adopted because the Elenari arent certain what name or names they called themselves in their own language at different points in time. While "Elenari" may not be the name the Elenari used for themselves on their Homeworlds, the name also has meaning in the Elenari language where "Elen" means "Elf" and "friend" with connotations of being from or of the stars, and "ari" means "(a) people."
