Electroplax

Electroplax are stacks of electric cells found in the muscles of rays, eels, and fishes. Theyu collectively from the electric organs. In the electric ray Torpedo, electroplax are found near the pectoral muscles and the gills. In all other fishes, it is ofund near the tail. In o-ne fish genus, the Malaptaturus, the electric organs are not made of individual electroplax, but is built up from charges of the epithelium, specifically the skin.
