El Abrazo Partido (2004) is an Argentine movie depicting episodes in the life of a Jewish family in the Once neighborhood of Buenos Aires and the other shopkeepers in a low-rent commercial galera (gallery). The narrator, Ariel Makaroff, is the son of a woman that was deserted by her husband, who went to Israel to fight the Yom Kippur war. The father is in touch with his former wife via the phone and supports their two sons. Director: Daniel Burman Cast:
