Edward Woodward

Edward Woodward (b. June 1, 1930) is a British actor born in Croydon, Surrey. He played the character of Sergeant Neil Howie in the cult 1973 film The Wicker Man. He is best known for his role in the 1960s spy series, Callan, and also for his lead role in the 1980s television series The Equalizer. He also had minor success as a singer. Woodward has two sons who became successful actors, Tim Woodward and Peter Woodward. During the 1980s, he caused something of a scandal by leaving his wife for the actress, Michele Dotrice, the daughter of his contemporary, Roy Dotrice. Other appearances include the feature film, Breaker Morant (1980) (in which he played the title role) and the BBC drama series, Messiah. Woodward, Edward Woodward, Edward
