Edward Lasker

Edward Lasker (1885-1981) was a leading American chessmaster and go player. Lasker earned degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering. He published several books on checkers, chess, and go. He was distantly related to, and friends with, Emmanuel Lasker. Edward Lasker participated in the legendary New York chess tournament in 1924, facing opponents like Alekhine, Capablanca, Rubinstein, Em. Lasker, and Rti. He lived on the upper westside of New York City at the time of his death. Edward Lasker's game against G.A. Thomas in 1911 is one of the most famous games in chess history.
