Edward Holyoke

Edward Holyoke (1689 - June 1, 1769) was an early American clergyman and educator. He studied at Harvard College (B.A., 1705; M.A., 1708) and served as Congregational minister in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In 1737 he was appointed president of his alma mater and served in that position for the rest of his life. Nearly 80 years old when he died, he was the oldest person to occupy the presidency of Harvard. Preceded by:
