Edward Carrington
Edward Carrington
(
1748
–
1810
) was an
American
soldier and statesman from
Virginia
. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the
Continental Army
, serving as Quartermaster to General
Nathanael Greenes
Southern campaign. He commanded artillery at the
Battle of Hobkirks Hill
and the
Battle of Yorktown
. Virginia sent Carrington as a delegate to the Continental Congress from
1786
to
1788
. He later served as foreman of the jury when
Aaron Burr
was tried for treason in
1807
.
