Edgar d'Mude (14 November 1788 – 22 June 1841) was a French philosopher, explorer and botanist who is most famous for his law of photocryogenesis. His travels in Africa and South America led to his discovery of several new species, including aphelimus dmudus and griolus dmudus. He is also known for his temperature scale, the d'Mude scale, which he proposed in 1822.
