Ebed-melech

In the Bible, Ebed-Melech, which means Servant of the King, was an Ethiopian eunuch who served Zedekiah, the king of Judah. Ebed-Melech rescued the prophet Jeremiah from a dungeon (Jer. 38:7-13). Later, Jeremiah informed him that he would be spared when the Babylonians captured Jerusalem (Jer. 39:15-18).
