EarmuffsEarmuffs are objects designed to cover a person's ears for protection. They consist of a plastic (or metal) loop that fits over the top of the head. There are two pads on the end that cover the ears. They come in two basic kinds: Thermal earmuffs: Thermal earmuffs are worn in winter to keep a person's ears warm. Audio earmuffs: Shaped like audio earmuffs, these are worn as hearing protection. An alternate form of these are pads that clip onto the sides of hard hats, for use on construction sites.
