Earl Of Nottingham

Earl of Nottingham is a title in the peerage of England, created in 1681 for Heneage Finch, who had served as Lord Chancellor. The first Earl's eldest son Daniel Finch succeeded him as the second Earl. When John Finch, 6th Earl of Winchilsea died in 1729, without leaving a son to claim the title and the earldoms of Winchilsea and Nottingham became united under his cousin, Daniel Finch, 2nd Earl of Nottingham, and now 7th Earl of Winchilsea. There were earlier creations of the Earldom of Nottingham, all in the peerage of England:

Earl of Nottingham (1525)

Earls of Nottingham (1596)

Earls of Nottingham (1681)

for later Earls of Nottingham, see Earl of Winchilsea Nottingham
